When space is silence…

Words, sounds, and space…

Come –
see real blossoms
of this painful world
            by Basho

I miss the days when suicide was not a normal word. Those days when we daydreamed about the places we would travel, the smiles we would laugh, the freedom we’d reclaim, the success, and joy. Do you remember that sunny day when we drove to the Texan Hill Country? The bluebonnets and wildflower blossoms? What was the colour of the sky?

Under a tree
a hurtful word fades out —
cherry petals colour the sky

The entrance to the past is here. What’s inside? The snake that once enchanted you? Will it bite you this time? I wonder if its venom will evoke colours and visions, or just pain. Maybe the past will show itself as it was meant to be. Memories trapped in oblivion might be relieved. Were they good?
Is past worth traveling for?      –Close  your  eyes…

The memory cave
lies on a sandy beach
… awaits pristine

Grabbed by the roller coaster

How do you price a roller coaster ride?
By its spontaneity or by its resistance?

There was music before the free ride into memories
into confusion
speed and doubt
There was a smile too      perhaps

How do you price a smile?
By its size, duration or its inherent pain?

There is a floor somewhere underneath her feet
She can’t reach it
Gravity does not work
The floor keeps moving    a w  a   y

How do you price the expression of true feelings?
By its absence or by its presence?

There are gentle words
made of struggle and broken dreams
There are soft sentences
composed of reality fragments

How do you price a tear?
By its smoothness or by its beauty?

There is a smile that was a tear
or a forced smile and two tears
pain  and  beauty
absence or speed
