When space is silence…

Words, sounds, and space…

Conversations with a silent cat

Amelia wears blue again
powders her nose
and whispers to the cat

You’re in my thoughts               often
                                       almost  constantly
I was upset with myself
          worried about you

Where were you when I was falling down?

Not that it matters anymore
I know you were hiding
                    afraid,  maybe
                    oblivious for sure
You are just a cat  after all
                just wildly detached
                        alone by choice
                         lonely at heart

Amelia removes some space
pets her distant company
shares the silence

Your eyes look so sad
Yet you are ready to turn and leave
          without a purr
                        a meow

You’ll be back –said Amelia
You are just a cat!

It’s our anniversary

It’s our anniversary

I’m all dressed up
in black and white.

I’m all dressed up,
longing to hold you …
though I know you are far.

I covered my face.
Life won’t see soft tears
sliding down my skin.
Not today.

I sit at the table
that witnessed our rituals,
that saves
our special place.

I’m all dressed up.
It is April 17th.
One glass will not be used.

I stare at the emptiness
of the space you left behind.
It is our anniversary!

My face is masked
in black and white.

Down with a cold

Amelia follows the cat, stumbles upon a wall, loses control,
falls down that path, finds a mirror.

Usual symptoms:
  headache
  congested nose
  sore throat
  watery eyes
  occasional fever

Amelia texts a “hello”, looks for the cat, sits on this bench,
waits for the answer: no answer.

Possible causes:
  heartache
  congested mind
  sore memories
  watery eyes
  unknown fear

Amelia reflects a reflection, looks at the path, thinks of the cat.

Butterflies are dreamy flowers

   They fly the skies,
     color the wind
 and follow the stars,
    just like a dream.

  They’d like you to join
 and play with the clouds.
  They’d like you to enjoy
and smile. There’s no doubt!

Over at dVerse, Victoria encourages us to write poetry for children. My muse today was on a completely different spirit, though, as you can read in “A passing shadow“. So I must confess that writing a poem for children has been a real and fun challenge. I tried my best…

I remember why

Nonsense to my ears
strange tastes
   weird   moments
and a couple of smiles
marking the very beginning
and the final good-bye

A visit worth ending …

I’m in the middle of this
in the height of the senseless moments
and the zenith of being told (albeit without words)
that is best if I pretend to disappear

I wonder why I am here
how        I manage to forget
the dynamics of this foreign cold gang

But       do I really forget?
Or do I just pretend I do?

When will this end?

My ignore-them will is at max
Not enough!

Maybe I should add noise
the sound of a gun killing my eagerness to walk out the door
or a bomb with evanescent smoke and vanishing powders

The end is coming
It is a cup of coffee away
                 dark coffee

I need to prepare the smile

             End
                .
