When space is silence…

Words, sounds, and space…

The jar of a heartbeat

        conundrum

Amelia feels the jar of a heartbeat
wrapped around unspoken words

        hesitation

The phone is ringing
A turmoil of fears clutter her thoughts

        exposure

Amelia answers
Words are spoken

        entropy

Amelia releases a secret
Possibilities scatter around

        peace

Amelia feels the enchantment of freedom

A flowy passage

Amelia looks at the water where moonlight transmutes into a flowy passage. She wonders how it would be to walk such path. Would it free her? Would it liberate all fears? She imagines fears released and flying away like colourful butterflies. Amelia observes the night, the fluttery rainbow leaving her body as she walks forward.

Fear is a darkened rose

Fear is a rose with black mask.
Fear is what makes us move.
It is the next step we ought to take.
the uncertainty of turning left or right.
I fear me, I, all and nothing.

Then I walk. I take the road… I step out.
I fall, I run, I dance, I jump.

Fear is the fuel that motivates the one
who thinks challenges are exhilarating
escapades, possibilites, non-sense.

Uncover the rose with me.
Challenge your limits.
Jump those barriers.
Dance with me.

The end of this summer

Amelia strolls the streets of a foggy forest
full of memories to collect –or not …

   ordinary solitude
   sporadic apathy
   sun

Amelia turns right on Spring St.

   unexpected connection
   exceptional passion
   anticipated deadline
   risk
   rush

Amelia crosses Stability St.

   unknown territory
   distance
   fear

Stop sign!

   confusion
   desire

Amelia walks on Reality St.

Just a few seconds

Amelia felt confused for just a few seconds. The confusion led to fear, fear to sadness.
She was sad about the possibility of a past event. An event that might had happened without her knowing until now. But if it did happen … decisions should have been different. Maybe the pain would have been reduced. Is it possible that she made such a big mistake as a consequence of ignorance? The hint was the purple feather that was left at her front door by … By who? –she wondered.

Ghost at the door
Anxiety
             Forgotten feelings
A purple feather flies away

Did it happen?

For this month’s Open Link Night, I decided to try my own version of the haibun, combining prose with a short free verse poem.
